You can set dynamic budgets for travel policies to help manage changing service costs, seasonal price changes, and different provider rates.
You can keep your policy flexible by setting a percentage cap based on the cheapest option or the median price.
Dynamic budgets can be set for flights, hotels, and trains.
Set up a dynamic budget
- Go to Settings > Travel management > Travel policies.
- Click New travel policy or go to an existing travel policy.
- Select Flights, Hotels, or Trains and click Edit.
- Under Dynamic Budget, enter a percentage, select more than or less than, and choose if it’s based on the cheapest option or median price.
- Set your maximum budget, currency, and exceptions for longer flights
- Click Save changes.
Based on the cheapest option
Perk uses the price of the cheapest option in the search results to decide if the other results are in or out of policy.
If the cheapest option is €100, and your dynamic budget is 20% more than the cheapest option. Any search results that are €120 or less are within policy.
Based on the median price
Perk uses the median price of the options in the search results to determine if the other results are in or out of policy.
If the median price is €100, and your dynamic budget is 20% less than the median price. Any search results that are €80 or less are within policy.
Note: If you’ve also set a maximum budget, any search results above the maximum budget will be out of policy, even if they’re within the dynamic budget range.
