Reserve a train seat

Train companies normally assign seats to passengers, but some companies let you select a seat or request your preferred seat.

Seat maps with prices are available for:

  • Most Deutsche Bahn trains.
  • Most Renfe trains - including Renfe Avlo.
  • SNCF 1st class fares.
  • Ouigo France - Grande Vitesse trains and Ouigo Plus fares.
  • Select UK rail operators, where seat selection is free: Avanti West Coast, Grand Central, CrossCountry, Hull Trains, LNER, Lumo, TransPennine Express (long distance), and Great Western Railway (to/from London).

You can find your assigned seat on your PDF ticket, which can be downloaded on the Trips page or your confirmation email. For more information about collecting your tickets, see Getting your train tickets.

If you want to change your seat after booking, see Add or change a train seat for a booked trip.
