Book a split train ticket in the UK

Split ticketing involves buying separate train tickets for different parts of your journey rather than a single ticket for the whole trip. It’s generally cheaper to buy UK train tickets in this way.

Note: You might get different types of tickets with different restrictions. Make sure to check the ticket conditions before booking.

 

Book a split train ticket

  1. Go to the Travel page > Book > Trains tab.
  2. Enter any destination in the UK.
  3. Enter the date, destination, and travelers for your trip, then click Search trains.
  4. Choose a train, select the SplitTickets fare, and click Continue.

  5. Select your ticket delivery method and seat preference, then click Continue to itinerary.
  6. Add a name to your trip and click Continue to checkout.
  7. Make sure the traveler's details are correct, complete the payment and reporting details, then click Confirm payment or Send approval request.

Once the trip is approved or confirmed, you’ll receive a confirmation email with a PDF version of the tickets attached.
