To verify your identity, you must provide a valid proof of identity. Here are some guidelines to help you capture an in-date and acceptable copy of your identity document.
Accepted identification documents
Identification documents must be one of the following:
- A valid passport: Showing all four corners, including the top and bottom pages.
- EU/EEA/UK plastic driving license: Full or provisional.
- National identity card: Only acceptable for EEA (European Economic Area) or Swiss National customers. It must have a photo of the applicant and display the front and back of the card.
- EU/EEA or UK Residence permit/card: Issued by the Immigration Services.
- The Dutch national identification document: BSN/ BSIN/ KVK number.
Passports and identity cards
To provide a certified copy of your passport or identity card, check that:
- All four corners of your passport are visible.
- All details are fully legible.
- Your passport is signed.
- The copy is in color.
The certification must be performed by a notary, solicitor, or chartered accountant and include the contact details of the person who certified the copy of the passport.
It must include confirmation of the certifier's name, occupation, registration number, professional address, email, or telephone number. For example:
I hereby certify that this is a true copy of the original.
Signed by John Smith, 12/02/205.
Chartered Accountant, 00000001.
Certifier Signature.
To perform remote identity verification, you will need a mobile phone and proof of identity. The entire process will take between 3 and 10 minutes. This process removes the need for a certified proof of identity.
