Spot and avoid Perk scams

At Perk, your safety and trust are our top priorities. Unfortunately, like many well-known and successful companies, fraudsters sometimes impersonate us to trick people into sharing personal information and/or money.

We’ve uncovered scams involving fake emails, lookalike websites, false job offers, and messages through unofficial apps.

Top tips to spot and avoid scams

  • Always check if the communication is from an official Perk channel. Our official channels are Perk.com, verified Perk social media accounts, and our official LinkedIn company page

  • All our emails come from addresses ending in @perk.com. Our official websites are perk.com and app.perk.com

  • All Perk job openings are listed on our Careers page. We never use apps like WhatsApp, Telegram, or Signal for recruitment and will never ask you for payment for jobs or services.

  • In general, be cautious of messages or offers that seem ‘too good to be true’ and only use trusted platforms and official contact channels.

  • If you receive a suspicious message, do not reply. Forward it to security@perk.com so we can confirm if a message is real.

Common scams

There are many different types of scams that fraudsters use to try and trick you into handing over your personal information. Here are a few of the most common ones:

  • Rental and property scams: Perk does not buy, sell, or rent properties. We are not involved in timeshare sales.

  • Recruitment scams: All official job postings are on our Careers page. We will only contact you from emails ending in @perk.com, @externalperk.com, or through recruiters listed on our official LinkedIn page. We will never ask for payment during the hiring process.

  • Fake websites and domains: If you are unsure about a website, check that the URL is exactly https://www.perk.com

  • Phishing and scams to steal your login details: Always log in at https://app.perk.com or through the official Perk app for iOS and Android. Never enter your details on a site you found through an unsolicited link. Perk uses a passwordless login. We send a unique code to your inbox and will never ask for a password or MFA code outside of SSO.

Some of the things that scammers might do include:

  • Use fake web or email addresses, such as perk-properties.com, perk-careers.com, perk-bookings.com, travelpork.com, or other misspellings of perk.com.

  • Contain links to fake websites that look like the Perk login page.

  • Contact you on unofficial apps or try to move the conversation to a private email or messaging app such as WhatsApp, Signal, or Telegram. We are currently testing SMS approval reminders

  • Pressure you to share personal or financial details such as bank account information quickly.

  • Use urgent language, such as "verify your account" or "log in to avoid suspension," and ask you to enter your email, password, or MFA codes.

Report a scam

If you get a suspicious message:

  1. Do not reply or share any personal information.
  2. Check the sender's email address for misspellings or extra words, like trevelperks.com or perk-properties.com.
  3. Forward the message to us at security@perk.com so they can check it.

If you have already shared financial or personal details, contact your bank and local authorities immediately.
