Government rates are special discounted hotel prices offered to eligible government employees and active military members in the US and Canada.
These rates are set directly by hotel chains. All travelers must present a valid government or military identification (ID) at check-in to qualify.
The following forms of ID are accepted (this is not a complete list):
- Federal government–issued Visa, Mastercard, or American Express card.
- Federal government–issued photo ID, such as a Common Access Card (CAC).
- Current military photo ID or official government/military travel orders.
- Federally Funded Research and Development Center (FFRDC) ID.
- Canadian government or military–issued ID or credit card.
- Native American tribal government ID.
- State government photo or non-photo ID.
- Travel orders on original state government letterhead.
Note: Government rates are currently only available in the US and Canada for single bookings and not group bookings

When searching for a hotel on Perk, you can filter the results to only show those that offer government rates. Under the Exclusive to your company filter on the left side, tick the Government rate box.
You’ll see a green Government rate tag on any rate that’s exclusive to government employees and active military members.
