Add family and friends to personal travel

You can bring family and friends along on personal travel you book through Perk, such as a partner, a family member, or a friend. Add them before you start your search, and then book flights, stays, trains, or cars for them whenever you book personal travel, paid on your own personal card. This article shows you how to add family and friends, book for them, and manage them.

Note: Personal travel is currently in beta phase and is available to a select group of customers.

Role: Travelers with personal travel turned on can perform this task.

In short: add family and friends through the add-traveler form, select them when you book personal travel, and manage them all in one place. Family and friends can only join personal travel, never business travel.

To learn more about booking and paying for personal travel, see Booking personal travel on Perk.

Who you can add

Family and friends must be 2 or older. You can add anyone who meets that age requirement, such as your partner, a family member, or a friend.

Note: Adding someone under 2 years old is not possible as infants aren't supported yet. For more information, see Book travel for a child.

The family and friends you add are private to you. Only you can see them and book for them, and their names are hidden from everyone else in your company. To learn more, see How personal travel stays private.

Adding family and friends and their relationship to you

You add family and friends through the same add-traveler form you use to add any new traveler.

To add someone:

  1. Start a personal travel booking and open the traveler selection.
  2. Choose to add a new traveler and fill in their details in the add-traveler form.
  3. Select your relationship to them (for example, partner, family member, or friend).
  4. Save the traveler.

Once saved, they're linked to you and ready to select whenever you book personal travel. You can also add family and friends from the Family and friends tab in your profile before you start a booking: select Add a traveler.

Note: Family and friends you add get no access to Perk. They have no login and no account. They exist only as people you can book for.

Booking flights, stays, trains, or cars for family and friends

You can book any service for family and friends as personal travel: flights, stays, trains, and cars. Adding them to seats or rooms works the same way as booking for multiple travelers for business travel. To book for family and friends:

  1. Select them from the traveler selection when you search.
  2. Start a personal travel search for a flight, stay, train, or car.
  3. Complete the booking as usual, assigning seats or rooms across you and the people traveling with you.
  4. Pay for the whole booking, including their services, on your own personal card.

To learn more about how payment works for personal travel, see Booking personal travel on Perk.

Managing your family and friends

Perk shows all the family and friends you've added in one place, so you can review them at any time. Open the Family and friends tab in your profile to see everyone you've added. Each person stays linked to you: no one else in your company can see them or book for them.

Family and friends and business trips

Family and friends can't be selected as travelers for business travel. Your company pays for business travel, so family and friends are only bookable on personal travel, which you pay for yourself. If you don't see someone you've added in the traveler selection, check that you're booking personal travel.

To learn more about what your company can and can't see, see How personal travel stays private.
