How personal travel stays private

Personal travel on Perk lets you book personal travel in your work Perk account, paid on your own card. This article explains the privacy model behind it: what your company, your admin, and your colleagues can and cannot see, what stays fully in your hands, and what's coming next. For the basics of booking and paying, see Booking personal travel on Perk.

In short: everything that belongs to your personal travel, your bookings, your payment methods, your private companions, and your invoices, is private to you. Your company can't see any of it.

Note: Personal travel is currently in beta phase and is available to a select group of customers.

What the company cannot see

Personal travel on Perk stays out of every place your company looks at travel data. Specifically:

  • Reporting and accounting: your personal travel doesn't appear in company reporting or accounting.
  • Spend: personal travel creates no expenses, trips, or accounting entries in Spend, and personal invoices don't sync there.
  • ERP: personal travel never reaches your company's ERP connector. Personal invoices are your data, not your company's.
  • Your personal card: your personal card is hidden from your company admin, and it can't be selected at business checkout.
  • Private companion names: the names of private companions you add are hidden from everyone else in the account, including admins and people managers.

Company travel rules don't apply either: no travel policy, approvals, cost objects, or custom fields touch personal travel.

Personal travel data Can your company see it?
Personal travel No, hidden from reporting, accounting, Spend, and the ERP connector
Personal card No, hidden from admins and unavailable at business checkout
Private companion names No, hidden from admins, people managers, and other travelers
Personal invoices No, they stay yours and don't sync to Spend or the ERP

What you can see and manage yourself

Personal travel on Perk keeps everything visible and manageable for you, the traveler. You see your own personal travel alongside your business trips in one place, so you don't need a separate account or app to keep track of it. You can also see and manage the private companions you've added, all in one place. To learn how to add or manage companions, see Add private companions to personal travel.

Note: If you book personal travel and later leave your company, your user access can't be removed until that travel has taken place.
