Verify your identity to view Perk Card details

When you go to Cards, Perk asks you to verify your identity before you can access the page. This article walks you through setting up a passkey or passcode for the first time, and how to verify your identity on your return visits.

This article applies to Perk Cards only.
Note: Perk asks you to verify your identity before displaying your card details to keep your financial information secure. This is a requirement under PCI-DSS (Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard), the global standard for protecting card data.

Setting up for the first time

The first time you go to Cards, Perk asks you to create a passkey or passcode. You see a screen that says Create passkey to access this page.

Tip: We recommend creating a passkey. It's faster, doesn't require you to remember a code, and uses your device's built-in security. You can use the same passkey to sign into Perk instead of a one-time password.

To create a passkey:

  1. Go to Cards.
  2. Select Create passkey.
  3. Follow your device's prompts to set up biometric or device authentication (for example, Face ID, Touch ID, or fingerprint).
Caution: Passkeys are specific to a device. If you set up one in the Perk web app, you need to set up another one when you use the Perk mobile app. Passkeys are not shared between devices.

To create a passcode instead:

  1. Go to Cards.
  2. Select Create passcode instead.
  3. Follow the on-screen steps to create your passcode.
Note: Your passcode must be at least 7 characters and contain at least 2 of the following: lowercase letters, uppercase letters, numbers, and symbols.

Verifying your identity

Once you've set up a passkey or passcode, you see a Use passkey to access this page screen each time you go to Cards. To verify with your passkey:

  1. Go to Cards.
  2. Select Use passkey.
  3. Complete the biometric or device authentication your device prompts you for.

To verify with your passcode instead:

  1. Go to Cards.
  2. Select Use passcode instead.
  3. Enter your passcode.

What happens after you verify

After a successful verification, Perk opens a 15-minute session window. Within that window, you can view your card details as many times as you need without re-verifying. Each time you view your card details, the 15-minute timer resets. If you haven't viewed your card details for 15 minutes, the session expires and Perk asks you to verify again the next time you try to view them.

Tip: If you need to refer back to your card details several times in a short period — for example, when making purchases — do so within the same session window to avoid repeated verification prompts.

If you can't verify

If you cancel the verification prompt or it times out, go back to Cards to try again.

Caution: If you don't see a Use passkey option, it means your device doesn't support passkeys or you haven't registered one yet. Select Use passcode instead to use a passcode to access your corporate cards.

If you're having trouble completing verification, check that:

  • Your device's biometric authentication (Face ID, Touch ID, or fingerprint) is set up and working.
  • Your Perk passcode is correct.
  • Your device's software is up to date.

Contact your account admin if you've set up a passkey or passcode but still can't verify.
