How AI hotel review summaries work

AI hotel review summaries give you a quick, balanced read on what past guests think of a hotel, right on the hotel detail page in Perk. Use this article to understand what the summaries cover, where they show up, and how Perk builds them so you can trust what you're reading before you book.

What are AI hotel review summaries

AI hotel review summaries turn hundreds of individual guest reviews into a short, easy-to-scan overview, so you don't have to read through pages of reviews to get a feel for a hotel. Instead of leaving Perk to research a property elsewhere, you get the key takeaways right where you're already comparing hotels and rates, so you can decide with confidence without breaking your flow. Each summary appears under the heading "Guest reviews summary" and carries a clear AI attribution line with a sparkle icon: "AI summary of recent reviews." This label tells you at a glance that the content is generated from guest feedback, not written by Perk, so you always know what you're looking at.

Where you'll see them

You'll find AI hotel review summaries on the hotel detail page, alongside the hotel's review score and review count. Perk shows the total number of verified reviews behind the summary (for example, "6,728 verified reviews") along with the hotel's score out of 10, so you can see the scale of feedback the summary is built on. Not every hotel has a summary. Perk only generates one once a hotel has built up enough guest reviews to support a reliable read — this is a quality bar, not a gap. If a hotel hasn't reached that bar yet, the "Guest reviews summary" section simply doesn't appear on its page; there's no blank space or loading message to wait on. As more travelers review a hotel over time, it can gain a summary once there's enough to work with.

The six review categories

AI hotel review summaries break guest feedback into six categories:

  • Location
  • Atmosphere
  • Rooms
  • Cleanliness
  • Noise level
  • Amenities

Each category shows a short verdict — a quick read on how the hotel performs in that area — followed by a short paragraph of 2 to 3 sentences that adds more context. This structure lets you jump straight to what matters most for your trip: check Noise level if a quiet room is the priority, or Location if you need to know how central the hotel is. Together, the six categories give you a fuller picture than a single overall score can on its own.

Built for accuracy and trust

AI hotel review summaries are built with a few safeguards so they're something you can rely on before you book. Each summary is a synthesis Perk generates from guest reviews — original text written to capture what guests are saying, not a reproduction of any individual review. The summaries are also balanced by design. Perk builds each one to include honest caveats alongside positive feedback wherever the underlying reviews support it, so you get a realistic picture rather than a one-sided one. And because a summary is only generated once a hotel has enough reviews behind it, you can trust that what you're reading reflects a genuine, substantial body of guest feedback rather than a handful of opinions. To keep summaries current, Perk refreshes them on an ongoing basis as new reviews come in, so what you see reflects the hotel's recent reviews rather than feedback from years ago. AI hotel review summaries are currently available for travelers using Perk in English.

Note: Individual guest reviews are never shown word for word on Perk. What you see in the "Guest reviews summary" section is always a summarized, Perk-generated overview.
