Book travel for a child

Travelers can add a child to their personal trips and book travel for them alongside their own plans. Use this article to add a child to your family and friends and book their travel across flights, stays, trains, and cars.

Note: Personal travel is currently in beta phase and is available to a select group of customers.

Role: Travelers with personal travel turned on can perform this task.

What this is and who it's for

Personal travel supports adding a child to your family and friends so you can book their travel together with yours on a personal trip. This covers anyone age 2 and up who travels with you on a personal trip and isn't an employee on your company's account. This is available today for travelers on accounts in the personal travel beta, and only for personal trips—it doesn't apply to business travel.

Add a child to your family and friends

A child is added the same way as anyone else in your family and friends, like a partner, family member, or friend. Follow these steps from the traveler form used when booking personal travel.

Start booking a personal trip and go to the traveler selection step.
Choose to add a new traveler.
Select Child as your relationship to them.
Enter the child's date of birth.
Give the child's name and any other required details.
Save them to your family and friends.

Perk uses the child's date of birth and the travel date to work out whether they're priced as a child or an adult on the trip.

Note: Perk won't let you add anyone under 2 years old. If you try, you'll see a message telling you infants aren't supported yet.
