Migrating labels to custom fields

On October 6, 2025, all labels were converted to custom fields. This change simplified how trips are categorized on Perk, offering a single solution that provides flexibility and control.

Custom fields allow you to categorize information into specific groups and set up validation rules, such as making it mandatory for travelers to select an option when booking trips. All information in custom fields appears on your invoices and reports.

For more information about custom fields, see Cost objects, custom fields, and groups.

Viewing your migrated labels

All active and archived labels have been converted into a single multi-select custom field called Labels. You can see this in the screenshots below. This field can be renamed, for example, to Reason for travel.

If you previously had a custom field named Labels, all options are merged into a single multi-select custom field.

You can see all active and archived labels as field options, and you can add more options.

This means that travelers see the dropdown list in the checkout step of the booking flow and can select one or more options, in the same way they could before with labels. Any active labels appear as options, while any archived labels won't appear in the list.

You can’t change multi-select fields to single select fields. If you want travelers to select only one option, you must create a new custom field.

You now have additional custom fields as part of your plan, so you can organize your labels more effectively.

  • For Premium and Pro plans, you get an extra 3 custom fields.
  • For Starter plans, you get 1.

Keep in mind that a single custom field can have an unlimited number of field options. You can import more options using a CSV file if needed.

If you want travelers to add other options themselves during the checkout step, select Enable traveler-added option in the Field settings for the Labels custom field.
