Order Perk Cards

This article applies to Perk Cards only.

Following the verification process for your card account by the bank, no manual forms or physical signatures are necessary for you to receive your cards. Instead, with just a few clicks, you can put in an order.

Caution: To order Perk Cards, you must have already set up an account. See Create an account (EU & UK) or Create an account (Switzerland).

Once activated by the cardholder and depending on your card type, your Perk Cards are available immediately. Virtual and physical cards can be used immediately online. Physical cards are delivered within the following ten business days. To order Perk Cards for your employees:

  1. Start the ordering process.
  2. Enter the required information.
  3. Activate the cards.
Warning: Physical cards won't be shipped until the cardholder has activated the card. Make sure employees know they must activate their cards as soon as possible to prevent delays.

Starting the ordering process

Card admins can perform this task.

To start ordering your Perk Cards, go to Cards > Team cards. After selecting the corresponding legal entity in the Company field, click Order card in the top right corner of the screen.

Enter your information

After you've clicked Order card, you set up your new cards in three steps: Card type, People, and Card settings. You can go back to a previous step at any time before you submit the order.

Card type

First, select the card type depending on your specific scenario:

  • Physical card: Tap in-store and pay online. Supports chip+PIN, Apple Pay, and Google Pay.
  • Virtual card: Ready to use in seconds. Supports a monthly limit or a fixed budget, plus Apple Pay and Google Pay.
  • Single-use card: A one-time payment card for maximum security — available immediately and auto-deactivates after use.

Select Compare cards in detail for a full feature breakdown if you're unsure which type to choose.

People

Select who needs a card. Each person you select gets their own card, and every card in this order shares the same type and settings — you'll set those up next.

Note: If different people need different card types or settings, order them separately. You can still adjust an individual card's limits at any time after it's activated.

To find the right people, narrow the list down:

  • Search by name to find one person directly.
  • Current cards filters to virtual, physical, single-use, or people with no cards at all — or hides people who already have a physical card.
  • Added since filters to people added to Perk after a date you choose.

Card settings

Set the spending limit, restrictions, and — for physical cards — the delivery address. These apply to every card in this order.

Note: If people need different limits or restrictions, order their cards separately, or adjust an individual card after it's activated in Cards > Team cards.

Spending limit

  • Spending period: How often the limit resets — Daily, Weekly, Monthly, or Lifetime. Lifetime sets a one-time amount that doesn't reset once the spending period ends.
  • Limit per card: The amount each card can spend within that period.
  • Card limit (single-use only): The maximum amount that can be spent in the card's one transaction.
  • Auto-terminate on (single-use only): The date after which the card stops working and any transaction is declined.

Spending limits on physical and virtual Perk Cards can't exceed these maximums:

Max. spend per singular transaction Max. spend per week Max. spend per month Max. annual spend
Switzerland CHF 100k CHF 200k CHF 800k CHF 5M
European Union EUR 100k EUR 200k EUR 800k EUR 5M
United Kingdom GBP 88k GBP 175k GBP 700k GBP 4.4M

Blocked merchant categories

Turn this on to block spending in specific merchant categories. A cardholder can't complete a purchase at a business in a blocked category.

ATM withdrawals

For physical cards, turn on ATM withdrawals to let cardholders take out cash. It's off by default, so cards can't be used at ATMs until you turn it on.

Delivery address

Physical cards only — virtual and single-use cards go to your default company address automatically, since no physical card is issued. Choose where to send the cards:

  • Office address: Send every card to one of your company's registered addresses.
  • Send each card to the cardholder's home address: Perk uses the home address on the person's profile. If someone doesn't have one, add it now or send their card to the office instead.
Note: Addresses need a valid street name, street number, and postal code, and must be in a country where Perk Cards are available (EU & UK, Switzerland). You can't place the order otherwise — see delivery restrictions.
Caution: You can't change the delivery address once you place the order.
Note: Auto-freezing cards for late receipts isn't set up during ordering. To turn it on, see Automatically freeze a Perk Card when too many receipts are late — it's configured at the company level, in Cards > Team cards.

Confirm your order

Check the order summary — card type, people, spending limit, ATM withdrawals, spending categories, and delivery address — then click Create card. Click Back first if anything needs changing: you can't edit the order once it's placed.

Warning: Your card order is not completed yet. The cardholders need to activate the cards. If the cardholder doesn't activate the card, the card order is not processed and the physical cards are not printed and shipped.

Activate the cards

To complete your card order, the cardholders need to activate their Perk Cards in Perk. Cardholders need to provide and verify their phone number, set answers to the security questions, and in the case of physical cards, create a PIN, to configure their security settings and activate their card. You can see if a card has been activated by checking if the status changed from Draft to Active in Cards > Team cards. Once activated, your card order is processed. Virtual cards are available immediately for use. Physical cards arrive within ten business days of activation to the office address you provided. Once the cards are available, cardholders can start to use their card to manage their expenses.
