Activate your Perk Card

This article applies to Perk Cards only.

Before your card admin can complete the order process of your new Perk Card and make it available to you, you need to activate the card. Depending on the type, physical, virtual or single-use cards, the information you are required to enter changes.

Activating your corporate card in the web app

To activate your Perk Card in the web app: 

  1. Go to Cards. 
  2. Look for the card to activate; for example, Physical (Needs activation)
  3. Click Activate card.

Activating your corporate card in the mobile app

To activate your Perk Card in the mobile app: 

  1. Tap Cards icon.
  2. Tap the card with the Draft status. 
  3. Tap Activate card.

Tip: You can also activate your new card from your profile, in Cards.

Activating your physical card

Warning: You must activate your physical card before it can be shipped. If you freeze them while they are being shipped, they may be terminated.

To activate a physical card, you need agree to the terms and conditions of the Perk Card. You are then taken through the following 3DS security configurations:

  • Phone number and SMS verification: Providing your mobile number enables a method to verify online card transactions.
  • Security questions: Providing answers to security questions creates an additional layer of security to your account.
  • PIN: Set a 4-digit PIN code for the card. You can change it later if needed.

Each card should have its own unique PIN. For security purposes, don’t use the same PIN in multiple Perk cards. Once you’ve entered all information, click Activate. This completes the ordering process, and you’ll receive your Perk Card at your office or home address within the next ten business days.

Caution: When you pay with your Perk Card for the first time, you’ll need to insert your card into the card terminal or ATM and enter your PIN to fully activate your card.

Activating your virtual and single-use card

If you already have an existing Perk Card, you can click Activate card to automatically carry over the configured security settings to your virtual card, meaning your card activation requires just a single click.

Note: Virtual and single-use cards don’t have any PIN numbers.

If you don’t have another Perk Card, clicking Activate card opens a new window where you must agree to the terms and conditions of the Perk Card. You are then taken through the following 3DS security configurations:

  • Phone number and SMS verification: Providing your mobile number enables a method to verify online card transactions.
  • Security questions: Providing answers to security questions creates an additional layer of security to your account.

Once you’ve entered all information, click Activate in the bottom right corner of the window. This completes the ordering process, and your card is now immediately available for use.
