Fix common problems with Perk MCP, such as connection errors, missing data, or out-of-date reports. Use this article to find your problem and follow the matching fix.
You can only see the data that your Perk role and account setup allow.
Can't connect or authentication fails
If your assistant can't connect to Perk or sign-in fails, try these fixes:
- Make sure you signed in with your Perk credentials.
- Disconnect and reconnect the Perk connector in your assistant's settings.
- Make sure the server URL is exactly
https://mcp.perk.com/api/mcp/mcp.
You see fewer capabilities or less data than expected
Perk MCP mirrors your Perk role and your company's active plan, so you only see data you can already see in Perk. If you see less than you expected, check the following:
- Expense insights need Expense active as part of your company’s plan.
- Reporting needs reporting access, which is limited to analysts and account admins.
If you should have access to something you can't see, check your role and plan in Perk or with your account admin, and re-authenticate in the AI agent. At times, you may need to re-authenticate to access a new MCP capability.
Reporting looks out of date
Reporting data in Perk MCP is one day behind by design, because it goes through quality checks and aggregation before it's ready. This is expected, not an error.
However, you can try to search for specific trips or expenses for real-time data, as you’ll get the actual amount spent.
A report isn't ready yet
Generating a travel report in Perk MCP runs in the background, so it may not be ready the instant you ask. Travel reports are usually ready in under a minute, and large spend reports can take several minutes or more. Generate first, then download.
If the report isn't ready, ask your assistant to download it again in a moment.
A report is ready but not downloadable
When a report is ready it is served via a pre-signed download url. The agent will need permission to reach these domains to download the report.
To provide this permission, the account owner of your AI assistant needs to add the following domains to the allowlist on the AI provider settings:
-
http://storage.googleapis.com- Google Cloud Storage domain for spend reports -
https://tk-prod-custom-report-download.s3.amazonaws.com- S3 domain for travel reports
Results seem cut off
Perk MCP returns results in batches, so a long list may look cut off. Trip lists return up to 30 at a time, and user searches return up to 1,000.
To get a sharper answer, narrow your question with a filter, such as a date range, status, or destination.
Responses slow down or a request is turned away
Perk MCP limits how many requests it handles in a short burst, so the service stays stable for everyone. If you send many questions in quick succession, responses may slow down or a request may be turned away.
- Wait a few seconds, then ask again.
- Space out rapid questions instead of sending several at once.
- Ask one focused question rather than several broad ones back to back.
