To find out the most up-to-date information about the status of your flight:
- Go to the Trips page or the Perk app.
- Go to the airline's website or app.
- If you are already at the airport, go to the check-in desk or gate, check the screens, or ask airport staff.
- Search using your flight number on Google.
When Perk is notified of flight cancellations, we contact the travelers and the booker to provide information about available options.
If you confirm that your flight is cancelled, the best thing to do is to check your options on the airline's website. In these cases, the airline can make changes quicker than Perk, since we need to contact them anyway.
If you are already at the airport, go to the airline counter and ask about your options.
The available options depend on the airline's policies, but generally, they'll offer you the option to:
Note: If your flight is cancelled, do not request a change or cancellation on Perk, as you might lose any benefits you're entitled to because the airline canceled your flight.
Access your booking
To access your booking, go to the airline's website and use your booking reference and check-in email, which you can find on your Perk confirmation email or on the Trips page.
Rebook
Most airlines offer self-service options for you to rebook your cancelled flight. You might see one or more of the following:
-
Accept the airline's new flight suggestion: Airlines try to find the most logical alternative route, often using the next available flight within the next 24-48 hours. The new flight suggestion is usually displayed at the top of the page when you access your booking. There will be an accept button to select this.
-
Select a different flight: If the airline's new flight suggestion is not suitable, the airline might allow you to search the airline's schedule for other options free of charge, usually within a 1 to 7 day window. Look for a button like Select Other Flights or View All Options. They generally guarantee the same cabin class at no extra cost.
- Re-routing or alternate airport: Depending on the cause of the cancellation and the airline's policy, you may be offered the option to select an alternative departure or arrival airport, if they are close geographically. For instance, flying into London Gatwick instead of London Heathrow.
Note: Sometimes you might be automatically rebooked on a new flight, and it will be displayed when you access your booking.
If you are rebooked on a flight that isn't suitable
If the airline automatically rebooks you onto a new flight that is not suitable, look for a button like Select Other Flights or View All Options. This allows you to search the airline's available schedule for other days and select an itinerary that works for you. Generally, this is free of charge.
If the airline website doesn't offer a suitable alternative, contact Perk directly. If you're already at the airport, go to the airline counter and ask for the available flight options.
Once your new flight is confirmed
- You will receive a new booking confirmation and ticket number. Sometimes airlines provide a confirmation that your existing ticket has been revalidated.
- You need to check in for the new flight as usual, either online or at the airport.
- Your boarding pass will be issued after check-in for the new flight.
Refunds and compensation
Refunds
By law in some regions, like the EU, if the airline cancels the flight, you are entitled to a full refund if you reject all offered alternatives.
To request a refund for a canceled flight:
- Access your booking and look for a section or button on your booking status page labeled "Request a Refund", "Refund Options", or "Cancel My Trip for Refund".
- Complete the form. Make sure to include the reason for the refund "Flight Canceled by Airline" or "Significant Schedule Change." If the form offers a choice between a "Travel Voucher/Credit" and "Refund to Original Form of Payment," always choose the cash refund.
- Contact Perk and let us know that you've applied for the refund, and we'll make sure that it gets sent back to your company.
Compensation
Your right to compensation and coverage for expenses depends on the cause of the disruption and the location of the flight.
Each airline has different policies, so it's best to ask at the check-in counter, airline counter, or gate for specific details. Before you spend any money, try to confirm with airline staff what you are entitled to. Things like meals, refreshments, accommodation, or transport might be covered.
If you incur any expenses due to the cancellation, keep all your receipts and request a refund from the airline at a later date.
Tip: Perk can't help with claiming compensation, but you can contact our trusted partner AirHelp, who can help with your claim.
Missed flights and connections
For single ticket with both flights are on the same booking, if you rebook or request a refund for the first part of your trip, it should not affect your return flight. This depends on the airline's policies.
You may be entitled to change or refund the return flight. You'll need to check this with the airline or contact Perk.
Generally, if you miss your first flight for a single-ticket booking with both flights on the same reseravtion, you can't take the return flight. In cases of cancellations, your return flight shouldn't be affected. You'll need to check this with the airline or contact Perk.
If you miss a connecting flight, it's the airline's responsibility to rebook you. In these cases, it's best to contact the airline's customer service or contact Perk directly.
If you're already at the airport, go to the airline counter and ask for the available flight options.
