What's new in the spend experience in Perk

Submitting an expense, managing a card, and keeping track of what's outstanding all live in one connected experience now. Perk's spend tools have been rebuilt end to end: a faster expense form, a redesigned Cards experience, one page for everything you need to do (My Expenses), and card expenses that create themselves the moment you tap your card. Here's what's changed.

Faster, smarter expense submission

Perk's expense form has been rebuilt from the ground up, on web and mobile, so submitting an expense feels less like paperwork and more like a quick tap between meetings. Snap a photo of your receipt, or skip the receipt entirely, and Perk pulls in what it can, guides you through what's left, and gets you back to your day. On web, the average expense now takes about 28 seconds start to finish, and across the board more than 3 in 4 expenses are submitted in under a minute.

It's not just faster, it's smarter:

  • Pay with a company card right in the form, with your card pre-filled and ready to go.
  • Add tax rates in a couple of taps, and let Perk work out the gross, net, and tax amounts for you.
  • Fill in custom fields that adapt as you go, showing or hiding what's relevant to your answers.
  • Mark a refund with one checkbox, and Perk handles the credit note behind the scenes.
  • See policy warnings the moment they matter, not after you've already hit submit.
  • Get category-specific prompts automatically, whether that's a date range, a required comment, or a card-only category.

And it's noticeably snappier: the form now loads about 24% faster. On mobile, you can get expenses pre-approved before you even submit them on Android and iOS, and Android users can pull up a full history of who did what to an expense, and when.

Note: The expense form shown here may look slightly different in your account. Perk is gradually updating the expense submission experience for all accounts. The change is purely visual; the expense still contains the same information.

A cards experience built for how you actually use it

Perk's Cards pages have had a top-to-bottom redesign on web, switching to a cleaner experience. It's the same cards, the same balances, the same controls, just finally looking and feeling like the rest of Perk.

Access Cards from the main navigation menu rather than from within Spend, so the tools you reach for regularly take fewer clicks to find.

Experience for employees

The Cards view puts your balance and transactions front and center, with clear, plain-language statuses. Less noise, more of what you actually need to see.

  • Freezing a card, viewing its details, checking the PIN, and reporting it lost or stolen are all still a click away, just easier to find on the redesigned card itself.
  • Your spending limit — available balance, monthly limit, days until reset, spent vs. pending — is still right there too, now clearer at a glance. Click Spending rules to view your card limit and the merchant categories where you can use your card.
  • Requesting a new card is still just as quick, accessible from the top right corner.
  • If you have several cards, each one is displayed on a separate tab with the type of card and last four digits to help you identify them easily

Experience for card admins

For card admins, the experience is similar to the employee view, but separating the admin’s personal cards from other employee’s cards with Cards > Team cards.

  • Switch between company and bank account, and see your available balance, total balance, and reservations (held or pending amounts) at a glance.
  • Add money to the account or order a new card right from the top of the page.
  • Perk cards, card requests, and archived cards each have their own tab, so pending requests don't get lost in the main list.
  • Filter the card list by card type, status, limit period, or limit amount, or search by owner or card name.
  • Each row shows the cardholder, when the card was created, its limit and limit period, and how much is still available, with a menu to freeze the card, report it lost or stolen, manage its spending settings, or terminate it.

Requesting and ordering cards

We’ve updated the flows for requesting and ordering cards to make clearer which type of card you’re ordering and any spend limits you want to set to determine how the card is used.

While this release focuses on design and navigation, it’s the foundation to allow Perk to generate expenses automatically from your card transactions among other features, with more on the way in the months ahead.
